Tiffany Barton’s theatre credits include Travis in Do You Know Me (Melbourne Fringe 2019) June in DIVA (Creative Collaborations), Mrs Farley in Playhouse Creatures. (HIVE) Eve in The Garden (Creative Collaborations), the three female protagonists in Picasso’s Goldfinch (The Blue Room), Tamora in Titus Andronicus (HIVE – nominated Best Actress By the Perth Equity Guild), Death of a Salesman (Hole in the Wall Theatre Company) Hermia in Midsummer Nights Dream (Rattling Tongues, Sydney), The Simple Truth (Black Swan), The Loss (The Blue Room), Sexual Perversity in Chicago (The Rocks Theatre, Sydney), The Clink (The New Theatre Sydney), Il Postino (The Pilgrim Theatre Sydney), Year Nine are Animals (Troubadour Theatre Company) and Suitcase Stories, a one woman show she wrote and performed for the Fremantle Maritime Museum. Film and TV credits include The Ballad of Nick Chopper, Idiot Box and Australia’s Most Wanted. Writing Bio Tiffany Barton is a playwright, actress, producer and storyteller. Her site specific, verbatim, promenade play about homelessness called Do You Know Me performed at Melbourne Fringe in 2018 and received a lot of media attention and praise. In 2015 her play Metalhead was named number four in Perth’s Top Ten plays of 2015 by Perth Theatre Reviews. In 2014 her one woman show DIVA won The West Australian Arts Editors Award and The Turnstiles Award at the Perth Fringe and was nominated for a Performing Arts WA Best New Play Award. In 2015 she was nominated for the New York Gilder/Coigney Award for International Woman Playwrights. Her shows The Garden and Polly’s Waffle both sold out at the Perth Fringe 2012 and 2013. Polly’s Waffle performed at The New York Fringe Festival in 2013 to rave reviews. The Garden was nominated for an Artrage Theatre Award. Her play Run Kitty Run (Commissioned by Barking Gecko Theatre Company) was nominated for a Best New Play award in 2008 (Perth Equity Guild). She has written commissions for the WA Maritime Museum, Barking Gecko, Rio Tinto, Woodside Mining, The Michael Leslie Foundation and many schools in the Perth metropolitan area. She has also been published in Best Australian Stories 2004, Cosmopolitan, Sitelines, Emerge and Thirst. Her one woman show Suitcase Stories has toured throughout Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide. She has toured extensively throughout the Pilbara teaching drama and conducting collaborative script writing workshops in remote communities. She has also taught many theatre and writing workshops throughout Perth for Barking Gecko Theatre Company and Creative Collaborations.
